It is quite difficult to convince the patients to wait for long time periods needed between grafting procedures and replacement of teeth. Even more so if the predictability of graft is questionable.

In comparison, graftless procedures can be used in certain cases for providing solutions to patients. The procedures involve minimal surgical trauma, maximum oral function & assured result. 

Perio-aesthetics can enhance the implant emergence profile especially in the aesthetic zone. Soft tissue grafting is an extremely versatile procedure that has many uses. Recent developments have made soft tissue grafting more predictable and less invasive.

OBJECTIVES

• Learn to avoid grafting procedures wherever possible in placing implants.
• In depth knowledge of soft tissue grafts, helps the clinicians to handle various periodontal defects.
